August 11, 2023 (Richmond, B.C.) – Michelle Harvey, a long-serving veteran with HME Home Health, British Columbia’s rapidly growing home medical equipment dealer, has been promoted to Chief Operations Officer (COO).
“Since joining our company in 2014, Michelle has shown tremendous growth and extraordinary dedication,” said Cameron Fleming, HME Health’s Chief Information and Innovation Officer (CIIO).
“Starting as a senior sales representative, she initiated HME’s pediatric division, making it the largest in B.C. She then rose to the position of Sales Manager responsible for the Lower Mainland and was named in 2021 as Vice-President for Sales and Products.
“As COO, Michelle will assume responsibility for HME’s day-to-day operations, overseeing the company’s sales, operations, and client-services teams.”
Robert Boscacci, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said Michelle will join him and Cam in forming HME’s new Corporate Executive Team.
“Over the past number of years, Michelle has been instrumental in developing our people, culture, and brand,” he said.
“Importantly, she played a vital role alongside Cam and me in developing the HME Signature Series, a line of clinically designed, exclusive products now available throughout British Columbia.”
For her part, Michelle said she was excited to take on a greater role with expanded responsibilities.
“From a single location when I first started with HME nearly a decade ago, we’ve grown to seven locations, including our newly expanded head-office space and a team of 115 professionals and support staff.
“I’m tremendously proud of all we’ve accomplished working together, and I sincerely thank Robert and Cameron for their mentorship, guidance, and support.”
HME’s Senior Leadership Team joined in applauding Michelle’s new promotion.
Flora Zhang, Corporate Accountant, observed that Michelle recently had done an exceptional job supervising the company’s head-office expansion in Richmond. “The look and appearance of our new spaces are beautiful,” she said.
Senior Manager, Kristy McMartin, offered her congratulations and noted that Michelle had been instrumental in building HME’s team through a strong human resources vision. “Naming Michelle as COO is yet another progressive step for HME and continues our efforts to promote diversity across the company.”
Shannon Commeault, Head of Operations, added that Michelle’s promotion further solidified the key roles women have taken at HME. “By my estimation, women compose 56 per cent of the senior leadership and management team, she said.
In conjunction with the announcement of HME’s new executive team, Robert Boscacci also reported that corporate revenues grew by a significant 17.9 per cent during the fiscal third quarter ending July 31, compared to the previous year.
Cameron Fleming added that the next 18 months will see a sizeable shift in the company’s IT systems.
HME Home Health currently has more than 75,000 square feet of office and warehouse space across B.C., with operations in Richmond, Victoria, Surrey, Nanaimo, North Vancouver, and Kelowna.
HME offers a significant array of mobility devices and medical equipment, including wheelchairs, power chairs, walkers, hospital beds, mattresses, and other durable medical equipment, along with accessibility products such as stairlifts, vertical platform lifts, ramps, and other installed products.
