Richmond, BC (August 2nd, 2022) – British Columbia’s fastest-growing home-medical equipment dealer is pleased to announce that the City of Kelowna has been selected for the company’s sixth store-warehouse operation – and first in the province’s Interior region.
HME Home Health currently employs approximately 100 professionals and support staff at locations in Richmond, Surrey, Victoria, Nanaimo, and soon-to-open North Vancouver.
The new downtown Kelowna operation, situated on Enterprise Way, will feature 5,000 sq. ft. of office, showroom, and warehouse space.
“Our new location in the heart of B.C.’s Interior marks a significant step in HME Home Health’s growth and development,” said Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Robert Boscacci.
“We’ve overseen an ambitious – and extremely successful – expansion across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island over the last ten years, so our move to Kelowna is the logical next step as we strive to serve a growing number of British Columbians.”
Cameron Fleming, HME Home Health’s Chief Information and Innovation Officer (CIIO) and a company co-founder, noted that the new Kelowna location will enable the company to cover a populous geographic area.
“Statistics Canada has reported that Kelowna – with more than 222,000 residents – was the fastest-growing Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) in the country in 2021,” said Fleming, noting that the CMA includes communities such as Lake Country and Peachland.
“With our significant investment in our new, modern location on Enterprise Way in downtown Kelowna, HME soon will be able to provide service to individuals and families living within a two-hour radius. That will cover Penticton and other communities to the south, Merritt in the west, and Vernon, Armstrong, and even Kamloops to the north.”
Michelle Harvey, HME’s Vice-President of Sales and Products, also expressed her excitement about the company’s new opening in Kelowna. “We already have a considerable number of clients living in the Okanagan, as well as with the Interior Health Authority region, so the new store will allow us to provide even better service and assistance to patients and their families, including a custom-built assessment space with a patient lift and change table.”
That view was echoed by Eli Paradis, the company’s Corporate Trainer and Accessibility Division Lead. “With this expansion, HME will become the largest mobility and accessibility dealer in Western Canada – with the ability to provide service and products to nearly every British Columbian.”
HME Home Health currently has over 50,000 square feet of office and warehouse space at its five other B.C. locations and offers a vast array of mobility devices and medical equipment. That includes wheelchairs, power chairs, walkers, hospital beds, mattresses, and other durable medical equipment, stairlifts, vertical platform lifts, ramps, and other installed products.
